Dylan Dog: Dead of Night, director Kevin Munroe’s somewhat-delayed adaptation of the popular Italian comic series, at last has a U.S. release date — April 29.

Heat Vision reports Omnilab has picked up the horror film’s U.S. distribution rights, and will release it under the newly founded Omni/FSR label.

Announced in 2008, Platinum Studios’ Dylan Dog stars Brandon Routh (Superman Returns, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World) as the eponymous nightmare investigator, who’s relocated from London to New Orleans, where he becomes entangled in a mystery involving a missing artifact, a beautiful heiress (Anita Briem) and a brutal murder. The film also stars Sam Huntington (Superman Returns, Being Human) as Dylan’s undead assistant Marcus, Peter Stormare (Prison Break) as Gabriel and Taye Diggs (Rent, Grey’s Anatomy) as Vargas.

Created by Tiziano Sclavi, Dylan Dog debuted in 1986, and has since sold more than 60 million copies in 17 countries.
